I find it hard to believe that there are so many positive reviews to this book! I’m pretty bummed out to be honest. I bought this book to help my 3 year old work through his violent emotional outbursts and this book has the character running away from Home because he’s “so mad.” But at the end he gets his way so he decides he won’t run away today, but maybe tomorrow he will. Definitely not the message I want my son to ever ascertain. Total waste.

I wanted to purchase a Little Critters book because they were around when I was a child in the 80's and 90's. I chose this title because I have one child on the spectrum and one w Dyslexia who gets very upset doing her work... they both get aggressive, so this is a cute book they enjoy having read to them and a reminder that being angry is temporary and unnecessary.

I was hoping the end of this story would discuss how to deal with feelings. But I'm the end, Little Critter decides he is so mad that he is going to run away from home. So he packs up and gets distracted when he sees his friends all playing baseball and is happy that his mother allows him to go play with them. So he decides maybe he will run away tomorrow.Cute, but I was hoping for more about how to deal with our mad feelings, etc.

I purchased this book at the recommendation of a parent of a student I work with. She indicated it helps her daughter when she is upset. The only thing I don't like is the story line suggests the Little Critter is going to run away from home. He even packs up his things. In the end he decides to stay. I worry it is sending the wrong message to kids about how to handle their emotions. Running away from home is not a way to handle disappointment or being upset.The craftsmanship of the book is what you would expect from a kids paperback book. I felt the price was reasonable for this type of book. It was convenient for me to purchase this title on Amazon rather than trying to get to the book store.If you like the Little Critter series you may like this book. If you are looking for a book to support social/emotional regulation I would recommend something else.

This book is adorable, and so fun to read with a little one that is learning to read along. I always over exaggerate the I WAS So MAD and it always gets giggles. I read it often to my friends son when I watched him and now buying it for another friend for her baby boy. It is NOT a negative message, it shows how little kids can find small things so upsetting but then in the next second all is right in the world. It's life people, it in no way encourages kids to threaten to run away to get their own way. Puhleeease. Ha.And the illustrations are so cute!

The story line in this book is terrible. I thought it would be about how to handle big emotions in a positive way, but it isn’t. The worst part is when it suggests running away from home! I kept reading, thinking this idea would be addressed and it would be made clear that this is a dangerous way to handle anger, but it isn’t resolved at all. I couldn’t give this book as a gift or read it to my own child or even feel comfortable donating it to a library or charity. I threw it away.

I thought this would be more helpful with dealing with frustration etc. I did not like that the character wanted to run away because he was mad. I don't want my kid to runaway when they don't get their way or get mad. This book does not model what we would like to instill in our kids.

Love reading this with our toddler. He has started realizing emotions, and will say things like, "IM SO MAD!" I think this book has helped him with using words to express how he feels.

I first saw this book while on vacation in Greece...Naturally, I looked up the places my husband and I had visited and the book portrays them beautifully! There's great historical detail in the text as well as outstandingly accurate illustrations of prominent Greek sites and monuments. The 'see-through' pages give an incredible glimpse of what ancient Greece looked like over 2000 years ago. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who has been to Greece, wants to go to Greece or is studying Greece. It is written for all ages! For any educator teaching Greek history this would be a highly useful 'textbook'.Enjoy!

This beautiful book has full page color photos of the ruins of ancient Greek temples and theaters, with transparent overlays filling in how these magnificent buildings would have looked when first built. It includes photos of statues and architectural details, with a general overview of ancient Greek history and explanations of the buildings' purposes and histories. Most of the buildings shown are on mainland Greece, but the Palace at Knossos and the sanctuary of Apollo on Delos are also included. These buildings are spectacular!

We were in Greece in 1997 and these wonderful books were for sale. However, the thought of carrying around the extra weight was too much to overcome AND I thought we would be able to find the book in the states. Wrong. We are so thrilled to have this book in our collection. It does such a great job of presenting what the current ruins might have looked like in their prime. Love those acetate layers. For anyone studying ancient Rome, getting ready to tour Greece or just curious, this is wonderful book.

Well made book that is a great teaching aid and if you are going to travel to these sites it will give you a better understanding of what it was like in the time period.

The past and present images are cool

An awesome book. While in Greece, the tour guide used one very similar to this as a reference. They are for sale everywhere (22-25 Euros) but with the dollar so weak it will save you money, (not to mention having to carry it home) buying it here. The overlays and information are wonderful. The pictures bring to life the sites that you visit while there. Highly recommended.

Really nice after our trip to Greece! Would have been better if we had this before we left but it is also great to look at after the visit. Shows lot of things we actually experienced and can see what some of these great places looked like in their day.

This book was as good as new... amazing service!The pages and the cover were in great quality. This is a very good concise book for histology

If you use First Aid for the the USMLE Step 1, you probably will not use this book. There is a lot of "low yield" information disperese throughout and it may not save you much time to filter through all of it to make it worth while. If you insist, read through it fast and note the clinically significant items in boldface.

I find this books enlightening and inspiring. It is the first work that by this author that I've read and am grateful that a friend recommended it to me.

Stick to the histology Road Maps. Most of the High Yield Series is good except this one. The pictures and explanations leave too much room for wanting something else.

I did not have chance to enjoy this book because Green Street Books sent me very bad copy of this book, overwritten pages that I can never read from them, so I threw it a way , I am very upset with this bad experience I had with amazon..I learnt a lesson that before I buy any book from any sellar dealing with amazon should choose one with high rating.

This was a disappointment because it was a 1997 version. I will not buy from this vendor again. This was not in the advertisement.

This is not a typical histology book...in the sense that it contains, pharmacology, pathology, physiology and anatomy and very little histology and histopathology. The book is extremely HIGH YIELD for usmle but not for a class in histology. It covers topics ranging molecular biology of signal transduction to the coagulation cascade. First year medical students will not recognize much of the info in this book and think it is "fluff"....it is one of the best kept secrets to scoring high in the USMLE, since many of the questions aren't exactly pathology or physiology stand alone questions, rather they are a mixture and a blend of many subjects. This book does that for you, it integrates many..many concepts. Its a great buy for 2nd years.

I never took the time to count how many times St. Peter is mentioned in the New Testament but the authors of this book did. The e-book explains that fishermen at that time were considered relatively prosperous and that St. Peter was married before he became Christ’s disciple. The book explains that it is necessary to apply high historical and literary criticism to determine St. Peter’s life. One last thought it is highly doubtful that the Romans crucified St. Peter upside down. The book is concise and possibly too concise because the book seems a little bit rushed. The book also describes the documents that the author used to determine who St. Paul was including his life before and after meeting Jesus.

Really enjoyed this historical overview of St. Peter. He was the most strong-willed and "human" of the apostles due to his up-and-down engagement with Jesus throughout his life. This book highlights and goes into detail on his activities and backs it up with not only biblical writings, but other historical writings and instances. It reads well and not too "educational" where you want to go away and come back. Good pacing and well versed.

A brief overview of one of Christianity's most important Apostles. Encourages one to explore his life in greater depth. I look forward to doing so.

Preparing for the Lenten Penance service, I read my copy of "Lord Have Mercy: The Healing Power of Confession. Scott Hahn, a convert himself to Catholicism, and now a Professor at St. Francis University, Steubenville, Ohio, and President of St. Paul Center for Theological Studies, has done it again. He is a very inspired, and well educated professor who takes delight in digging into the roots of the Church and finding the earliest references to this most important Sacrament of the Church. Going all the way back to the Book of Genesis and coming forward through the Bible to where Jesus institutes the sacrament with his apostles to forgive sins, "Whose sins you forgive, they are forgiven, and whose sins you loose, they are loosed in Heaven." Scott Hahn teaches how the Jewish faith involved the cleansing and purification of oneself before going into the temple, and how in the Book of Leviticus laws were to be formed, and all these Old Testamentreferences come not to be replaced, but fulfilled in the sacrament of penance. An examination of conscience Appendix provides one with examination of our lives based on the Ten Commandments, and Prayers that can be said.It all made sense when in our penance service this sacrament was depicted as a large umbrella, purple for the color of Lent, underneathon one side was a word - Confession, which was the telling of our sins to another, in this case, a Priest who is given the authority through the Church, established by Christ. We confess our sins, admitting we have sinned (and every live human being is a sinner), we come to Christ in the sacrament and are forgiven our sins, and given a penance (token prayer, or reading to pray for forgiveness and thanking God for His forgiveness), and we are reconciled with God after we reconcile ourselves with those we offended if we can do so.This book is easy to read, and I even went and marked the pages where biblical references were made to follow the flow of the development of this sacrament. This book will practically make you want to go to confession. It has a great guide for an examination of conscience. When entering the church, I was so totally prepared for confession that my confessor was just surprised. I have read but two chapters. I am finding the material to be very germane to this Lenten season. Scott Hahn writes in a way which is thought provoking without being preachy. Scott Hahn's writing is such that there is layer after layer of well stated levels of meanings or depth of thought to each chapter. There is a coordinating series on EWTN, the Catholic TV station. Both the book and the EWTN series are well worth the effort needed to study.

Confession sets our relationship right with God, which extends to our relationship with others. A right relationship with God transforms our soul so that we can cooperate with grace to live the good, the true, and the beautiful.

Really enjoy Scott Hahns writing. I am an adult convert to catholicism so my education is lacking. I really enjoy his books because they explain the important details in ways that make it easy to understand. He also is very passionate about the relationship with Jesus and it shows in his writing.

Scott Hahn has wowed me again! I am a convert to the Church, was brought in this past Easter 2015. I started watching Lord Have Mercy on EWTN, and I just had to get the book, and I am glad I did. Scott Hahn has helped me gain a very deeper and strong love for the Sacrament of Penance!

But after trying ALL of the recipes in here, I give it 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone.Best thing is, all dishes are essy and quick to make, with common ingredients and even recipes for keeping our own spice blends.Give it a try. It is worth it.

Love, love the Dash Diet. I followed it for 10 days using only the receipes in the original book, and lost weight without feeling hungry or deprived. Therefore decided to order the actual cookbook. I love the receipes and how they are separated by meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc). Wonderful diet plan, simple to use, receipes are great, not difficult to prepare and are not time consuming.

Bought this over a year ago hoping for some inspirations especially for vegetarian/vegan ideas. Very disappointing whether a meat eater or vegetarian/vegan. I found most of the recipes mundane in nature and lacking in flavor although easy enough to prepare. I am keeping this more as a reference for quick DASH info than as a cookbook. For recipe ideas use Google. I found the Mayo Clinic’s website to be the better resource for recipes. Check the library before buying this book then make your decision.

Overall, the recipes are decent. I was hoping for more creative ways to make different foods, but this does offer a solid base to refer too. Most of the book is pointing out what many people know that helps with heart healthy, such as low fat, no fat, and low sodium ingredients. I think pictures of each recipe could change my thought about the recipes. I know if it looks good, I'm far more apt to try something new.

I have tried many diets over the years. Dash diet is one that I do not like to think of as a diet. It is more a lifestyle change. I get to eat lots of yummy foods, and this cookbook helped me along the way. I was very backwards in my flavoring. Often resorting to butter, and salt. After just a few of these recipes I was able to use what I learned, and update my favorites into healthier alternatives.

Marla Heller has presented a collection of elegant, yet easy, recipes that anyone can prepare and enjoy. OMG! This is an excellent book! Been using the recipes listed inside and after a week have already dropped 5lbs. Decided to buy it because I am a a subject of hypertension and needed to get it under control ASAP! So, these recipes will make a difference. They also help with controlling high blood pressure as well, which is what my husband had to get under control. So, for what it's worth, I highly recommend this book.
