I am an active Real Estate Broker from another state- and just needed to study for NC without having to pay a crazy amount in house classes that NC would "like " you to do. Was recommended by a NC RE school to get this book instead. Waste of my money.... This book is only a bunch of Cliff notes - no real information about differences in NC RE law. If it does mention it. There is not much information to elaborate the laws or differences. NOT a good book. My recommendation is to call a NC RE Class and see if they have a NC specific Cram Course ( usually one day and they provide you with a better book about NC RE laws and what is on the test. ) Good Luck and hope this information helps someone else.

Along with my book & numerous worksheets, the book helped me pass my classroom exam. Now to study more for the State Boards.

I passed the North Carolina real estate exam using this book as a resource, along with reading the underlying rules and regulations. I also relied on youtube videos of the NC pre-licensing course. DO NOT USE THIS BOOK AS YOUR ONLY RESOURCE. It probably sufficient for the national section, but it is NOT enough to help you pass the North Carolina State portion. A small amount of the information is wrong or not detailed enough, and the practice questions are not in line with what may be on the exam.

Solid amount of practice questions for the state portion of the test which are hard to come by. Also they were much better practice tests then online tests for the state portion.. Passed my test with this book and prepagent.

I liked this product very much, it was the final review i needed to prep for the State Exam. I passed on my first attempt.

One of the best, if not the best examination prep books on the market. Wish it was in video and/or audio format.

If you are looking to understand pipe stress analysis, this is a must-have for your library.This book contains a method for manual pipe stress analysis which is detailed and comprehensive, so that the reader can understand what is involved in calculating pipe stresses at various points, can work the examples, and find maximum thermal stresses, stresses due to wind load, etc. Calculation methods are compatible with ASME B31 piping codes and parallel the codes very closely.While it takes a good amount of time and effort to read, understand, and reproduce the results in the book, it's well worth the read and a useful tool to anyone needing to understand pipe stress analysis, whether you have a software license for FEA of piping systems or not. This is one of the few methods out there of obtaining maximum stresses without a computer program. It lends itself very well to calculation in a spreadsheet.While complex systems are still better done with an FEA analysis package, the methods in this book can afford the user quicker results for simpler systems in many cases.One of the gold standard books on pipe stress and piping design.

The book arrived quickly and in great condition. The content of the book is superb. At my company the role of stress analysis goes to an engineer but as a designer I cannot wait for the official stress analysis to coordinate with structural so I need to know with a good amount of certainty what type of pipe supports will be needed and where.I have already been able to use this book on a current project and I can't wait to dig deeper into.

Worked at MW Kellogg during the 90's. Kellogg was the first to produce design and drafting standards for piping drafting, design, and engineering.

This book covers a very broad subject that is music and sound healing. Some chapters are very "mystical" (ch. 9 Music Cosmologies and the Inner Sound) and often open to debate, and others a very scientific (ch. 2 The Process of Physical-Psychological Hearing) and hard to grasp. So at points it can be very abstract and even subjective and at other very specific and objective. The overall approach by the author is scientific, even when he writes about subjects that he might even be a bit skeptic like giving specific western note names to planets and zodiac signs or the musical notes related to each one of the chakras. The result is that you end up trusting McClellan's writing but also you realize how speculative music healing can be. At the same time it is a very interesting subject and quite relevant to modern and alternative medicine tendencies (i.e. singing bowls used by oncologist Mitchell Gaynor to treat cancer). Sound therapy has a significant potential in helping improve our health but it needs still more research and investigation, this book is definitely one of the places to start: It is both accessible to the layman and can be used as a reference book by the professional.The book is well documented and has a good bibliography, but it is lacking an index and that would very important specially when used as a reference book. I read this book after reading "The Power of Sound" by Joshua Leeds, that book on the other hand has a website with links to most of the subject that are mentioned in the book! This definitely helps track new discoveries. BTW, The Power of Sound seems to be very closely modeled after this book.Clearly a seminal book in the subject and one that I foresee myself reading more than once.

Being a musician who not only studies the arcane and spiritual aspects of music, but also puts it into practice, I have high standards by which I judge books that profess to describe these matters. Most such books are, sadly, either designed for the most elementary teachings, or are utter nonsense.I found McClellan's book to be a refreshing exception. There is a great deal of very useful and practical information within. Yet it's still comprehensible to the layperson.

I have read dozens and dozens and dozens of books and articles on the subject over the past 10 years. I highly, highly recommend this book. It is profoundly wholistic and a true gift, intellectually and intuitiviely.

I did not finish this book due to the fact that I found it difficult to follow and very slow reading.

Because our ear bones vibrate from the time before we are born until we die, what we hear and how we hear are important. Sound can add to the quality of our life and the life of the planet. It's as if the universe is one big orchestra and every vibration contributes to the music. By adding to the harmony of the music, we can add to universal health.In The Healing Forces of Music, McClellan explains the basis of sound in scientific terms and shows how sound has been used in various times and cultures for healing. He demonstrates many principles for understanding our own inner resonance, and how to connect with the power within to heal.McClellan shows how our voice unites body, mind and spirit, and has properties that can increase our sensitivity to internal resonance and healing. Voice can also help remove obstacles-such as emotional stress and negative mental attitudes-that make our energy stagnant. Music can also be used in healing to quiet the patient, to help concentration and to facilitate the expression of emotions. McClellan presents a variety of techniques for working with sound and breath, from the use of relaxation to chanting vowels and ancient mantras."The first requirement of learning the process of healing is to experience the effect of various pitches on your own body." Finding your own natural voice or note is very therapeutic. McClellan tells a story of an old Armenian man who played one note on his cello day after day. His family, driven to distraction by the sound, told him that other musicians played different notes and created melodies. The old man replied that all the others were still searching for "the right note" whereas he had already found it.The discipline of music can influence us spiritually and create a meditative atmosphere. "The slower the rate [that?] individual sound events pass through our consciousness and the greater the periods of silence between them, the slower our sense of time becomes.... About as good as the last one. Great product, room for improvement.

It speaks ill of the publisher that an issue is UNAVAILABLE so early in the print run. I bought issue one: it was okay. I bought issue two - it never arrived (and has been allegedly back-ordered from months). Now I find that it's out-of-print? Seriously? Why on earth would I pre-order the next issue? Buyer beware.Update: Now back issues for this issue are being offered used for $250 a pop and up. The rest of them are $10 or so used. It's a magazine, for pity's sake. When you have a copy for cover price or less, let me know.

This book provides an interesting account of Queen Marie of Romania (1875-1938). It tells how she came across the teachings of the Bahá'í Faith which were presented to her by an itinerant American traveller, Martha Root, who was a Bahá'í.Queen Marie was a grand-daughter of Queen Victoria and Czar Alexander II of Russia and was brought up in England. As was customary at the time, she was married as a young girl of 18 into European royalty and so began her life as a royal princess in Romania. In 1922 she became Queen as the wife of King Ferdinand. Marie loved her adopted country but life was difficult for her enmeshed as it was by diplomatic and political intrigue which restricted her freedom.She was a person of deep moral courage and conviction and an adherent of the Christian Faith. On meeting Martha Root in 1926 and being told about the Bahá'í Faith she recognised the truth of the divine message of Bahá'u'lláh and she became an ardent promoter of His teachings, mostly revealed through her letters and diaries and also in the letters of Martha Root.The book covers a specific 12-year period as the author records the encounter and relationship of Romania's Queen with the Bahá'í Faith during the years 1926 to her death in 1938. It has been well researched and covers an area of the Queen's life not generally known about before, particularly in Romania.Marie was a noble Queen. She was a person who experienced great suffering in her own personal life. She became involved in hospital work during the second Balkan War and was able to provide great comfort in caring for the sick and suffering. She had a great spirit and depth of vision. Her allegiance to the Bahá'í Faith gave her the honoured position of becoming the first monarch in the world to embrace the Bahá'í Faith and this became her eternal grown of glory.

When I returned to Oregon to open Wildwood Restaurant in 1994, the restaurant scene had not drastically changed since my great-grandparents opened their restaurant, Dan and Louis Oyster Bar, in 1907. Built on a foundation of local and seasonal food, oysters were harvested from their Yaquina Bay oyster farm, bay shrimp and Dungeness crab from the waters of the Pacific Ocean, and Willamette Valley strawberries topped the ice-cream sundaes. In 1994, Portland was just beginning to emerge as a metropolitan area with a growing reputation for its restaurants, chefs, and abundant agricultural and wild food sources. It was a time of change and transition one that combined the ethos of days past with a new conversation about Pacific Northwest cuisine: how committed cooks could partner with local producers to create compellingly delicious food from the source. At the heart of this partnership are Oregon s ranchers, fisheries, foragers, farmers and dairies, who are focused on the quality of the food and the integrity of the ingredients. Those closest to their harvest speak of weather, climate, animal diet, soil for the plant, or cycle of the moon as points of determining the essence of flavor. This understanding of the land is a seasonal reminder of why the producers work so hard to preserve its precious bounty and continue as stewards and guardians of what cannot be replaced or replicated. The contents and recipes are amazing - many of the newspaper clippings I've been saving and using for years are included in this text. Also useful are some of the tips scattered throughout the book. For exammple: the differences in types of pectin, the various Asian vinegars, and the benefits of pasta water.Now for the flaw - rather stunning, because I've always found the Oregonian FoodDay staff to be wise and practical. But someone, somewhere decided to make this an edge-bound book - the kind that would never lie flat. At least not until the binding breaks and the book falls apart. How would anyone fathom that this great cookbook, with all these very useable recipes (that I already refer to on a regular basis), actually be used? The book will need to be weighted with a cast-iron pan or other heavy object to stay open. This is certainly not very practical while cooking or baking. The minute the object gets bumped, the book will snap shut and you'll be on the hunt to find which page you were on. Frustrating to say the least. Couldn't this have been one of those ring-bound books? Would that have been unreasonable?

I have 270+ cook books and this is one of the best, I refer to it often. You don't have to live in Oregon to appreciate this book. The recipes are great for entertaining as well as everyday meals. A must for cook book collections and people that love to cook and drink good wine.

Beautiful book, great recipes. I saw it here for a really great price so I bought it as a gift for myself! I'm really happy with it. I wouldn't say the recipes are necessarily every day things- there are some. But it does offer a lot of great tips.

Please understand that all my reviews focus on the interests of my middle school students.I have had the second book of this series in my in-class library for years but only recently had the money to complete the series. That led me to finally reading the first book.Wow. What a read! Kids will love it when they try it. A plot that is easy to follow but still twists and turns and surprises! A fully realized alternate reality that is impressively real. A hero that is vulnerable but brave. A remarkably eloquent treatment of a teenager who is battling cancer. A heroine who is fiesty and independent in a male-dominated soceity.This is the kind of book that as a reading teacher I long for: a book the whole family can read and enjoy together. I love it when my kids and their parents are reading the same book.I will warn you of one thing: if you are a parent, the ending will move you. I don't think that gives anything away, at least not anything for which the foreshadowing in the book does not prepare you. Recommended to grown-ups and kids alike.

I read this book years ago when I was a freshman in high school. Now, I'm a 19 year old history major, and I still keep an eye out for any new installments in the series. It's a wonderful read, and a very intersting story line. I'm a big historical fiction lover, and I adore the fact that this book combines history with fantasy and real life. It's fabulous. Hoffman continues the story in the following books. Yes, the stories are all different, but she still manages to connect them in one way or another. It makes reading them that much more enjoyable. Arianna and Luciano make you want to enter Bellezza as well, combined with the author's description and the walks that her two main characters take. In a way, the reader can find some type of connection with each character. I HIGHLY suggest and recommend that you read this book if you like history and fantasy. There's a good balance of both without the fantasy being too overwhelming and overpowering.

an awesome young adult book. One of my favorites. I read this 10 years ago, and it has stuck with me -- to me that is the mark of a good book.

This whole series is great... It's not a super complicated plot line, but I find the characters easy to relate to. I love the time transition from modern to historical and the parallels between them. I'm not a big historical buff, but even I found the historical content interesting because it was relevant to the story... not an indulgence of the author. I highly recommend this whole series to anyone who loves time travels or fantasy book.

The series 'Stravaganza' is fresh and unique. I really felt for the characters and could visualize the settings. City of Masks is entertaining and exciting. I couldn't put it down. I loved all the characters and the unique settings. I finished the first book wanting more.

My favorite saga growing up. It was great to introduce it to my niece.
